Lorrene Lemaster — an 80-year-old grandmother from Yakima, Washington — and Meghna, a 13-year-old student from India — share something in common. They both maintain personal blogs which are growing in popularity.
KomoNews.com of Seattle, WA reports that Mrs. Lemaster began using the internet in the early 90s when she retired and found herself bored. About a year and a half ago, she started a blog offering a witty and slightly cantankerous look at life.
My favorites from her recent posts to Pet Peeves and other Ramblings include:
- My Birthday Party about her 80th birthday celebration and shopping for a new laptop computer.
- Pet Peeve about the grammatical difference between the floor and the ground.
- Public Apology in which she apologizes to people she may have offended, after receiving a spike in traffic.
Meghna was recently recognized by YoungestBlogger.com as one of the world’s top 100 young bloggers. The recognition is added to her expanding list of awards from friends and organizations around the net. Her blog showcases creative writing, poetry, humor, and random thoughts.
My favorites from her recent posts to Delve Into the Mind of a Budding Blogger include:
- The Eight Things about goals, books, and embarrassing moments.
- Join – Tweet A Book in which she sets forth her plan for a new Twitter project.
Mrs. Lemaster and Meghna write about the same event from different angles in their posts Cowards and Pages From A Diary.
It’s great to see blogging used by women from different age groups and backgrounds to communicate with the world around them.
